Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the online voice changer

Why do I hear a loud squeal or echo?

That is acoustic feedback: the microphone is picking up your speakers. Wear headphones, lower the monitor volume or turn monitoring off.

Can I use this voice changer in Zoom, Discord or a game?

Browsers cannot expose a virtual microphone to other apps. This tool is for previewing, testing and recording effects. To use them in a call you need a system-level virtual audio device.

Can I download the processed voice?

Yes. Recordings capture the processed output, so the downloaded file already contains the effect you selected while speaking.

Does the effect add latency?

The pitch shifter adds a few tens of milliseconds because it needs a small audio window to work. It is fine for monitoring and recording, but not ideal for live singing.

Which pitch range sounds natural?

One to four semitones up or down still sounds human. Larger shifts create the classic chipmunk or monster effect, which is intentional but less natural.

Is my voice recorded or sent to a server?

No. Processing and recording happen entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and recordings disappear when you close the page.
